Our skills-based team, dedicated to the success of the SEM Academy and its ongoing development, are shown below.


Kate Simkovic

Kate Simkovic - CEO, ACSEP.

Kate Simkovic is the CEO for the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians and has over 20 years of experience in leadership and Education within the Sport and Exercise sector. Previously, Kate worked as a Secondary School teacher for many years followed by various program implementation roles and jurisdictional collaborative projects at Sport Australia (previously the Australian Sports Commission). Kate also has experience working in the not-for-profit industry leading programs and advocacy for people with disabilities and then spending time at headspace mapping the newly developed NDIS scheme. Since commencing at the ACSEP in 2016, Kate has been instrumental in the growth and development of many areas of the college both for Australian and New Zealand members. With this member-centred focus, staff numbers and diverse roles have grown significantly and domestic and international collaborations have been developed. Under Kate’s leadership, the ACSEP has launched a number of initiatives including the a new Website and LMS, the Doctors Dash - fun run for good mental health, a Reconciliation Action Plan, the Better Members program, the Year In Review and most recently the SEM Academy. Kate is passionate about partnerships and collaborations and is looking to grow opportunities within the Global Sport and Exercise Medicine Community. 

Dr Diana Robinson

Dr Diana Robinson - Chief Project Manager, STP Education Projects, ACSEP.

Dr Robinson is an experienced Sport and Exercise Physician who has worked in specialist medical education for over 20 years. Following her role as the Chairman of Training for ACSEP (2005-2010), she co-wrote the ACSEP curriculum. As a part of these roles, she became aware of the difficulties in standardising training across geographical areas and maintaining consistencies in teaching and learning methods. The development of these online modules was her vision; she worked with colleagues and government to obtain funding and has been the Project Manager developing these modules since their inception in 2013. Dr Robinson is the Chair of the ACSEP Curriculum Working Group, and is a member of the Court of Examiners. She is an Associate Editor of the BMJ Open Sport and Exercise, and a published author in a number of online specialist medical sites. Dr Robinson is a member of the Doping Control Review Board for FINA, the Australian Anti-doping Rule Violation Panel and the Therapeutic Goods Administration Advisory Committee on Medicines Scheduling. In the past, she has been the Chief Medical Officer for Triathlon Australia, worked in Rugby Union, Rugby League and Surf Lifesaving. She received the ACSEP Citation for Distinguished Service in 2016.

Kymberleigh Bray

Kymberleigh Bray - Design Consultant, ACSEP. Creative Director, White Leaf Solutions.

Kymberleigh is the Design Lead for the SEM Academy and all eLearning modules. Her team at White Leaf Solutions are responsible for the ongoing functionality of the SEM Academy and the learning management system (LMS). She has been working in consultation with the ACSEP, as a Design Specialist, for more than 5 years and was previously employed as the National Training Coordinator, responsible for all areas relating to Registrars within the Training Program. Kymberleigh and her team have been instrumental in bringing content to life by creating new visually stunning and user friendly modules. This has not only afforded audiences a greater learning experience, but has allowed the SEM Academy and ACSEP to further position themselves as a leader within the international market. Kymberleigh has spent the past decade focussing on training & development techniques, delivery methods and the fast growing digital learning space. She has a passion for discovering new ways to improve the overall experience for any kind of learner and has worked tirelessly to build and maintain valuable relationships along the way. The ongoing relationship between the ACSEP and White Leaf Solutions is a very special one.
